Needle Organizer??

I put a pincushion in a frame of the wood.
In the blank, I write marks and numbers of the threads.
I am going to use it as a very simple needle organizer.

Blackbird Designs
Loose feathers No.27
Autumn Song
Fibers:  ....... I used the different color for several parts.

Various fruits grew on my garden.
The Rose hips. A field grape. A Japanese beauty-berry.

What will these translate it as in English?
Do you call it a nut ?
Do you call it a berry?
Or are there other names?

Anyway, I love these colors.

Thank you for visiting my small blog.
Have a happy day.

  3. Love the thread holder!! So pretty and those colours of the berries are beautiful. Yes we call it a berry. Nut is like walnut, peanut, hazelnut, and so on.

  4. These are too, too lovely!

Your plants and photography of them are so gorgeous that I can't choose a favorite between them and stitching!

I have read about beauty berries before in the manga オチビサン。 This is the company which publishes the complied book: 朝日新聞 (Should be Asahi Shimbun; I am not certain I gave the right kanji). I think it runs weekly in their paper, but I am not sure if it is their main paper, or another product or magazine.

I can't get the paper, but once a year I can get the compiled book, yay! It is really wonderful. I so enjoy the natural and slow-life themes.

Thanks for the treat of seeing real photos of the plants!

  5. The purple and blue ones are berries, but the red ones are rose hips. Rose hips are used to make tea and are very high in vitamin C. They were actually a cash crop in America before we started importing our fruits. Now mostly decorative, but some still make tea and jelly from them.
